There's a catch.
Couch Potato the Pacific golden plover must be extremely stressed this year, because it has been chasing away intruder plovers of its kind for weeks.
On October 24, it simultaneously chased away two plovers; and soon after, it needed to deal with a persistent plover that just wouldn't go away.
After days of squawking and chasing, Couch Potato seems to have given the persistent plover a part of its feeding grounds.
What's hilarious is the land that it gave to the juvenile has large trees where I've seen birds of prey try to sneak up on it before.
I'll give that juvenile plover a name if it sticks around.
