All purpose potting soil has been scarce since the COVID-19 pandemic forced the state of Hawaii to go under a “Stay-at-Home” order in March 2020.

Then in May 2020, cactus potting soil became scarce. I find it hard to believe people around here are using that potting soil for its main purpose, considering it's never in high demand due to our humid climate.

I suspect those buyers are new to gardening and they're not aware of the fact that cactus potting soil is compiled to mimic a cactus’ natural environment, which is typically dry and nutrient poor.

Meanwhile, the additives (sphagnum peat moss, compost, etc.) that could improve water retention and/or nutrients in cactus potting soil has been scarce since March 2020.

This whole situation is ironic because I need cactus potting soil to refresh some of my older Sansevieria plants with compacted soil...
