In the wrong part of town.pacific golden plover 004

I spotted a lone Pacific Golden Plover on August 3, 2021 in my block. I haven't seen it since so it's most likely a visitor.

That particular piece of land is normally occupied by a duo of plovers that ganged up on Couch Potato (a member of "The Elite Plovers") last year. The war took place between on August 18-19, 2020.

It was sad to see Couch Potato forced from its land, and I have yet to give the two intruders a name.

I wasn't expecting to see any Pacific golden plovers at all at the beginning of August 2021 because the wind pattern near the arctic tundra hasn't been ideal.

For example, if they left Alaska today, they would need to fly down the coast of British Columba, Canada and enter our normal trade wind flow from California, United States.
