Leaves behind extreme humidity.
A stunning 31.85 inches of rain fell on the Hilo International Airport from August 22 to 24, 2018. The exact daily totals are as follows:
August 22: 8.29 inches (breaks the previous record of 2.32 inches set in 1957).
August 23: 8.56 inches (breaks the previous record of 7.15 inches set in 2016).
August 24: 15.00 inches (breaks the previous record of 4.04 inches set in 2016).
Those three days of record breaking rain in a row has raised the humidity levels to 80 percent in my home while the temperature was 80 degrees Fahrenheit.
