One down, many islands to go.
Hurricane Douglas has spared the Big Island of Hawaii where no damage was reported to the media as of this writing. This is a blessing considering it was churning 115 MPH gusts while it was passing north of the island.
It barely rained in Hilo where the wind gusts peaked at 32 MPH. We didn't get away from the extreme humidity though.
The heat index peaked at 99 degrees Fahrenheit in my home. The air temperature was 91 degrees while the relative humidity was 54 percent.
