Question: Does Hawaiian Telcom's DSL service throttle streams from Netflix?

Answer: The latest edition of Netflix's ISP Speed Index indicates that Hawaiian Telcom doesn't throttle streams from Netflix.

Netflix found that the average stream from Hawaiian Telcom's Network was 2.46 Mbps in June 2014;[1] as a comparison, Verizon's powerful FiOS network which was caught throttling streams from Netflix[2] was limited to an average streaming speed of 1.58 Mbps during that same period.[1]

Overall, Google Fiber had the highest average streaming speed of 3.63 Mbps in June 2014, which is approximately 32.23 percent faster than Hawaiian Telcom.[1]
