The Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC) revealed today that 8 people in Hawaii have become ill from hepatitis A after eating Townsend Farms Organic Antioxidant Blend, during the period of March 31-July 6, 2013. Here's a list of the other states that reported confirmed cases of hepatitis A from that product:

  • California - 74

  • Colorado - 27

  • Arizona - 22

  • Hawaii - 8

  • New Mexico - 8

  • Nevada - 6

  • Utah - 3

  • Wisconsin - 2

"66 (44%) ill people (all over 18 years of age) have been hospitalized, and no deaths have been reported," CDC reported. "All ill people who reported eating this product purchased it from Costco markets; however, the product was also sold at Harris Teeter stores. No ill people have been identified that bought the product at Harris Teeter at this time."

Although California reported the most cases, Hawaii had the worst ratio of cases, as seen in this list:

  • Hawaii - 1 in 174,039

  • Colorado - 1 in 192,133

  • New Mexico - 1 in 260,692

  • Arizona - 1 in 297,875

  • Nevada - 1 in 459,822

  • California - 1 in 514,073

  • Utah - 1 in 951,762

  • Wisconsin - 1 in 2,863,199
