Will organizers make the right decision?
Organizations across the country moved swiftly to suspend all operations due to the severe acute respiratory syndrome coronavirus 2 that's now classified as a "pandemic."
Many of these decisions was made before President Donald Trump imposed tight travel restrictions for almost every European country until April 12, 2020. This announcement was made on March 11, 2020.
Following this announcement, organizers for the Merrie Monarch Festival has yet to confirm if their festival will take place on the Big Island of Hawaii as scheduled on April 12-18, 2020.
If this festival isn't canceled, visitors from Europe will either cancel their trip entirely; or scramble to rebook their reservations, and that's assuming President Trump doesn't extend his European travel ban.
March 12, 2020 update: Organizers and sponsors has canceled the 2020 Merrie Monarch Festival.
