Meanwhile in Texas: Thousands of people volunteered on Labor Day.
Most unionized government workers in Hawaii received a free paycheck to not come into work on Labor Day. You'd assume 100 percent of those workers would be grateful for their free check -- but that's not the case.
Those ungrateful workers should take note on what's going on in Texas, where thousands of mail carriers volunteered to deliver mail in Harvey-affected areas on both Sunday and Monday (Labor Day).
"The Postal Service had more than 2,000 carriers volunteer to deliver mail and packages in Houston and surrounding Harvey-affected areas Sunday. More volunteered to deliver on the holiday," the USPS announced.
