It all started when a couple’s two laptops made noise that resembled gunshots because it was overheating in carry-on luggage.
TSA agents nearby reportedly told people to run out of the area because the laptops generated a fire.
Rumors of an active shooter in the airport triggered chaos. People was running in all directions, including past security checkpoints.
Ultimately, everyone in Terminal 2, including those who were already screened and sitting in the airplanes, were evacuated so they could be re-screened.
The whole situation could have been avoided if the TSA agents communicated with each other, and the person in charge reported the situation over the intercom...
